The climate heats up 5–10 °C during a few decades. The glacier melts and the edge retreats quickly in south-western Finland. The edge of the glacier is in water, 100 m deep, with icebergs floating in it, just like modern Greenland.

Holocene epoch starts
The holocene epoch started after the latest ice age 11 700 year ago. The global mean temperature raises fast, even by 5–10°C in a few decades. The glacier melts and the edge retreats quickly in south-western Finland. The edge of the glacier is in 100 meters deep water of the so called Yoldian see, with icebergs floating in it, just like modern Greenland. The edge of the ice retrieves even by 250 meter in a year, at its fastest. The University hill at Turku was released from the ice around 11 450 Ma years ago and became a small elevation at the bottom of the hundred meter deep Yoldian sea.
